Wallpaper - Wild Oats II

Our Wild Oats II wallpaper by Deborah Revell brings a delicate botanical study to the wall with striking simplicity. Featuring slender, upright oat grass stems set against a warm, pale neutral backdrop, the design balances fine linear detail with generous negative space. The soft contrast between the sepia-toned seed heads and the calm background creates an airy, understated composition that feels grounded and graceful. Made to measure for your specific wall dimensions, this PVC-free wallpaper features a subtle physical paper structure that complements its minimalist, photographic botanical character.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well in spaces where you want a quiet, intentional presence rather than an overpowering pattern. In a bedroom, placing it behind the headboard gives the room a gentle focal point while keeping the atmosphere calm and uncluttered. It is equally effective in a living room, hallway, or study, where the vertical lines of the wild oat stems naturally draw the eye upwards and add an elegant sense of height to the space.

Because the composition relies on open space and delicate forms, we recommend giving this design room to breathe on a relatively clear wall. Pairing it with lower furniture pieces, such as a low sideboard or low-profile seating, ensures that the fine details of the botanical silhouette remain clearly visible.

Styling it

The minimalist nature of this design makes it exceptionally versatile across contemporary, Scandinavian, and modern organic interiors. To balance the slender botanical lines, we suggest styling the surrounding room with tactile, understated elements:

• Pair with natural wood finishes such as light oak, ash, or warm birch to echo the organic feel of the botanical motif.
• Introduce unbleached linen, wool, or soft woven textiles in off-white, oatmeal, and stone tones to build depth without visual clutter.
• Incorporate simple ceramic pieces in matte or unglazed finishes alongside subtle blackened metal hardware for refined, grounded accents.

Colour combinations

The palette of our Wild Oats II mural wallpaper centres on soft sepia, charcoal-brown, and warm parchment tones. To create a seamless, harmonious interior, we recommend pairing the wallpaper with adjacent painted walls in warm off-white, soft plaster, or light greige.

If you prefer a richer, more grounded look, deeper accent tones drawn from the oat stems work beautifully. Consider bringing in charcoal, espresso, or deep warm taupe through upholstery, architectural trim, or smaller decorative pieces.
