Wallpaper - Salcombe Tree

Our Salcombe Tree wallpaper, designed by Deborah Revell, pairs a solitary tree motif with a quiet, painterly backdrop. The gnarled trunk and broad, cloud-like branches are rendered in dark smoke grey tones, standing in subtle contrast against an abstract blend of pale whites and soft blues. What we particularly appreciate about this mural wallpaper is how the oil-painted character gives the foliage depth and texture while keeping the overall impression open and balanced. Like all our wallpapers, it is custom made to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical paper structure.

In the room

We see this design working particularly well on a main feature wall where the spread of the branches has space to be seen in full. In a living room, placing it behind a low sofa allows the tree's canopy to remain the focal point without feeling cut off by heavy furniture. It is equally well suited to a bedroom behind a headboard or along an uninterrupted wall in a dining room, study, or home office, where the calm grey and blue tones bring an understated, contemplative atmosphere to the space.

Styling it

The quiet balance of our Salcombe Tree wall mural makes it a natural complement to contemporary, minimalist, and Japandi-inspired interiors. To keep the focus on the artwork, we would pair it with low-profile furniture and clean, simple silhouettes. Natural, lighter wood tones such as ash or pale oak work beautifully with the soft backdrop, while a single darker accent piece can echo the deeper grey tones in the trunk and branches.

Colour combinations

The design centres on dark smoke grey, off-white, and light muted blue. For adjacent walls and surrounding trim, soft off-whites, misty greys, or pale slate shades will create a cohesive, seamless transition. If you want to introduce deeper contrast through soft furnishings or cabinetry, consider charcoal, deep graphite, or a muted indigo that picks up on the cooler blue undertones of the background.
