Wallpaper - Electric Blue Ikat

Our Electric Blue Ikat wallpaper, created by designer Nicetoseeya, brings an energetic rhythm to the wall with its painterly interpretation of traditional woven textile patterns. Set against a rich cobalt blue background with fine vertical wash lines, the design features expressive ikat motifs filled with vibrant orange, soft coral pink, mint green, and clean white highlights. The watercolour-like appearance gives each shape soft, organic edges that balance the structured vertical repeat. Printed as made-to-measure murals, our wallpapers are entirely PVC-free and feature a subtle physical texture in the paper.

In the room

With its bold palette and lively repeat, this design makes an immediate impact across a main feature wall. In a living room, we like placing it behind a low-backed sofa or along a focal wall where the complete vertical motifs have space to stand out clearly. The saturated blue backdrop adds visual depth to the room, while the contrasting orange and mint accents provide an upbeat energy that works equally well in a creative home art studio or an inviting entertaining area. Because the pattern has a strong vertical flow, it also sits comfortably on narrower walls or alcoves that benefit from added height and character.

Styling it

To let the dynamic pattern lead the interior, we suggest keeping larger pieces of furniture relatively clean-lined and uncomplicated. Mid-century modern silhouettes or contemporary low-profile seating in neutral fabrics allow the wall mural to remain the centre of attention without overwhelming the space. Warm wood tones such as teak or honeyed oak complement the bright orange tones in the print, grounding the vivid blue ground. For a playful, eclectic scheme, you can echo the motif with a few smaller accent pieces, such as glazed ceramic bowls or textured cushions in terracotta or soft mint.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built around an intense cobalt blue base, layered with pops of bright tangerine orange, warm coral, mint green, and crisp white. For adjoining walls and painted woodwork, an off-white or soft warm grey creates a fresh, balanced frame around the design. If you prefer a richer and more immersive look, deep navy or petrol blue on adjacent surfaces will seamlessly extend the intensity of the blue backdrop. Warm terracotta and soft apricot tones also make natural companion colours for upholstery and curtains, picking up the warmest shades in the pattern.
