Wallpaper - View of Rome

Our View of Rome wallpaper captures the sweeping architectural grandeur of St. Peter's Square opening out across the historic cityscape. Photographed by Sergey Borisov from an elevated perspective, the composition balances the strong symmetrical curve of the famous colonnade in the foreground with the intricate density of terracotta rooftops, bridges, and distant Roman monuments stretching toward the horizon. Warm caramel tones, golden sunlight, and earthy browns define the palette beneath an open sky. Printed as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper with a subtle paper texture, it creates a striking architectural vista for interior walls.

In the room

Because of the panoramic scale and linear perspective, we see this wall mural working especially well on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full breadth of the piazza and distant skyline can be taken in at once. In a living room, placing it behind a main sofa anchors the seating area with a sense of open depth. In a dedicated study or home library, the classical architecture and warm daylight bring a composed, cultured atmosphere that complements bookcases and desk arrangements. We would avoid placing tall, solid furniture across the lower centre of the wall so the elliptical geometry of the square remains clearly visible.

Styling it

The classical Renaissance character and warm earthy tones pair naturally with traditional or heritage-led interiors. We would lean towards warm wood furniture, such as medium-toned walnut, antique mahogany, or warm oak, which mirrors the rich brown and terracotta rooftops across the cityscape.

To keep the room balanced against such a detailed photographic mural, we recommend choosing upholstered pieces and curtains in quiet, textured fabrics without competing patterns. Warm off-white or natural linen drapery softens the architecture, while subtle brass or antiqued bronze accents pick up on the warm, sunlit highlights in the photograph.

Colour combinations

The design is built around a palette of caramel, warm terracotta, sandy stone, and rich earthy browns, contrasted with soft blues and warm whites in the cloud-filled sky.

When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, or adjacent spaces, we would work with soft warm whites, pale parchment, or muted stone tones to let the golden light of the mural stand out. If you prefer a richer and more intimate scheme, a deep terracotta or warm umber on surrounding trim or cabinetry ties directly into the tiled rooftops across the skyline.
