Wallpaper - Eyes Are Watching VII

Our Eyes Are Watching VII wallpaper brings together classical portraiture and graphic instrument details inside an ornate, antiqued gold-toned frame. At the centre of the composition, a detailed study of an eye looks outward through a circular dial ringed with black serrated points and delicate calibration numbers. The warm ochre and gilded tones of the decorative border contrast with the deep black geometry and natural skin tones of the central portrait. Printed as a made-to-measure mural on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design creates an intriguing, surreal focal point on any feature wall.

In the room

Because of the strong central focus and defined outer frame, we see this wall mural working best on a dedicated accent wall where the entire motif can be viewed without heavy interruption. In a living room, study, or hallway, placing the design on a wall opposite the entrance immediately draws the eye and gives the room a curated, gallery-like presence.

The balance of classical painting aesthetics and graphic compass-like markings means the design holds its own in rooms with both high and standard ceiling heights. We suggest centring the mural behind a low credenza, sofa, or desk, leaving the central ocular motif clear of tall storage units or oversized furniture so the composition retains its full visual impact.

Styling it

To complement the rich, vintage character of this mural wallpaper, we would look towards eclectic, heritage, or moody contemporary interiors. Pairing the wallpaper with dark-stained wood, such as walnut, or muted painted cabinetry allows the golden frame within the print to stand out naturally.

We would keep surrounding wall decor minimal on the same wall, treating the mural as the primary statement piece. For surrounding textiles, heavy weaves in deep forest green, charcoal, or rich plum balance the dramatic contrast of the black dial and warm gilded borders without competing with the central artwork.

Colour combinations

The design centres around warm gold and ochre tones in the outer frame, paired with deep matte black markings and the warm, earthy beige and brown tones of the painted eye.

For adjacent walls and woodwork, we would recommend rich charcoal, deep olive, or warm off-white tones that echo the vintage parchment quality of the print. If you prefer a moodier atmosphere, wrapping surrounding walls in deep espresso or dark navy creates an intimate, theatrical setting that allows the golden frame in the wallpaper to glow.
