Wallpaper - Fort Entrance

Our Fort Entrance wallpaper brings the historic architecture of Fort Jefferson at Dry Tortugas National Park directly onto your wall. Captured through the photography of Jeff Foott, the photographic motif features the imposing nineteenth-century red brick fortress beneath a wide, clear blue sky. Arched window openings and weathered brickwork add rhythmic detail, balanced by swaying palm trees, a prominent lighthouse atop the ramparts, and an anchor resting along a sandy foreground path. Produced custom made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a tranquil, grounded visual presence with authentic maritime character.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well in spaces dedicated to quiet focus, such as a study, library, or home office. The composition has an expansive sense of depth, with the sandy path and grassy foreground leading the eye naturally toward the impressive masonry structure. On a wider, uninterrupted wall, the balance between the solid nineteenth-century brickwork and the open blue sky gives the room a feeling of openness without feeling busy. Because the architectural detail is concentrated in the midground, you can comfortably place desks, low shelving, or reading chairs against the wall without obscuring the main focal points like the lighthouse and palm trees.

Styling it

The warm russet tones of the brick and the natural textures in the photograph pair naturally with warm, grounded materials. We would pair our mural wallpapers with understated mid-toned or dark timber furniture, such as walnut or aged oak, which echo the historical feel of the masonry. To balance the structured geometry of the fort's arches, choose seating upholstered in simple woven textiles and keep surrounding decorative accents minimal, allowing the photographic depth of the wall murals to remain the central feature of the room.

Colour combinations

The design is anchored by warm russet, earthy browns, and weathered terracotta tones in the brickwork, contrasted cleanly by the sky blue and soft greens of the palms. For adjacent walls and woodwork, warm off-whites, stone neutrals, or soft sandy beiges create a seamless transition that flatters the foreground path. If you want to draw out the richer tones of the fortress, muted clay, warm taupe, or deeper navy accents in upholstery will complement the palette without competing with the scene.
