Wallpaper - High Noon Piles

Created in collaboration with artist Cheryl Warrick, our High Noon Piles wallpaper brings a bold, graphic presence to the wall through playful clusters of abstracted geometric shapes. Set against a deep, solid charcoal-black background, rounded rectangular forms are arranged into distinct quadrant mounds, alternating between warm ochre sunshine yellow and cool slate grey. Fine, hand-drawn-style line work and abstract markings criss-cross individual blocks, giving the geometric arrangement an expressive, craft-led rhythm. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, making it straightforward to hang.

In the room

With its strong graphic contrast and quadrant-based structure, this design functions exceptionally well as a focused statement wall. In a home art studio, creative workspace, or teenage room, we like positioning it on a main uninterrupted wall where the complete geometric groupings have space to breathe. The stark contrast between the black ground and the yellow and grey clusters gives the pattern real visual weight, meaning it easily commands attention without needing to cover all four walls.

Because the forms are arranged in structured piles with plenty of dark negative space between them, the motif handles natural daylight and focused evening lighting in distinct ways. Direct daylight accentuates the subtle linear details across each yellow and grey shape, while softer artificial lighting deepens the black background, allowing the warm yellow blocks to stand out sharply against the wall.

Styling it

To balance the bold postmodern character of the pattern, we suggest surrounding it with furniture that has clean, architectural lines and grounded finishes.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper is built around a confident tripartite palette of solid charcoal black, muted sunshine yellow, and cool slate grey. The black acts as a uniform canvas, while the alternating warm and cool clusters create an engaging visual rhythm across the surface.

When selecting paint for adjacent walls, trim, or cabinetry, consider pulling directly from the cool slate grey for a cohesive, understated transition. Alternatively, an off-black or deep graphite on neighbouring woodwork creates an immersive, wrap-around effect that lets the yellow highlights become the true focal point.
