Wallpaper - The Sanctuary Dark

Created in collaboration with artist Kellie Day, our The Sanctuary Dark wallpaper brings together expressive floral forms across an airy, painterly ground. Blooms in rich shades of coral, deep orange, poppy red, and pale buttercup yellow rise on slender, curving stems, capturing the loose, spontaneous feel of mixed-media oil painting. Collage-like text fragments and expressive brush marks add subtle visual layers beneath the petals. Like all Wallism wall murals, this design is made-to-measure, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, and produced to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because the flowers spread horizontally across the composition, we see this working exceptionally well on a wide, uninterrupted wall in a living room or bedroom. Placing the mural behind a low-backed sofa or as the backdrop to a bed allows the vibrant flower heads to sit comfortably above the furniture line, giving the painterly details room to breathe. The airy blue-white backdrop keeps the room feeling light and open, while the pops of warm orange and red draw the eye. In a hallway or staircase with good sightlines, the fluid stems create a lovely sense of upward movement as you move through the space.

Styling it

To let the artwork remain the focal point, we would balance the expressive florals with calm, grounded furnishings.
