Wallpaper - Santorini I

Our Santorini I wallpaper captures the architectural charm of Mediterranean coastal villages through expressive, watercolour-like brushwork in rich cobalt and ink blue against a clean off-white background. Designed by Nikita Jariwala, this wall mural depicts stone steps winding up past domed rooftops, arched doorways, and sun-washed village facades. The painterly washes and lively ink-style outlines give the scene an airy, illustrative character with generous negative space surrounding the central motif. Like all our wall murals, this design is made to measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

We love how this architectural mural wallpaper creates an immediate focal point while leaving plenty of visual breathing room around the edges. In an entryway or hallway, placing the design along a key wall invites the eye along the illustrated path, establishing a bright, welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door.

In a dining space or open-plan living room, we recommend giving the mural a clear, relatively uninterrupted wall area. Because the composition has an upward, stepped movement, keeping lower furniture, such as a low sideboard or dining bench, in front of the wall ensures the main village skyline and domes remain fully in view. It also works beautifully in a guest bedroom or home office where you want an artistic accent that feels light rather than heavy.

Styling it

The crisp blue-and-white palette naturally lends itself to coastal, Mediterranean, and relaxed modern interiors. To balance the expressive brushstrokes of the wallpaper, we suggest keeping surrounding furnishings understated with clean, simple silhouettes.

Light wood pieces, such as pale ash or natural oak, introduce warmth that softens the cool cobalt tones. Pairing the mural with textured neutral fabrics, like woven cotton throws or unbleached linen curtains, adds tactile interest without competing with the illustrated lines of the scene.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built entirely around deep cobalt blue, softer watery blue washes, and an off-white paper tone.

For adjacent walls and woodwork, crisp chalk whites or soft warm off-whites allow the blue artwork to stand out with maximum clarity. If you prefer more colour in the surrounding space, muted Mediterranean tones work exceptionally well: dusty terracotta accents, warm sand, or pale olive greens harmonise naturally with the coastal character of the blues.
