Wallpaper - Art Deco Moon Phase, Maroon

Our Art Deco Moon Phase wallpaper, designed by RNM Arts, brings together rhythmic fan-like symmetry and botanical forms against a rich, deep maroon backdrop. We particularly like how the circular, seed-pod or moon-like motifs radiate outward on slender stems, framed by delicate arching lines and textured, chalky white detailing with a block-print-inspired appearance. The high contrast between the deep burgundy ground and the weathered off-white line work gives the composition an elegant, vintage feel with a strong decorative rhythm. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper with a subtle paper structure, it offers a distinct architectural presence that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

In a dining room, bedroom, or living room, this wallpaper creates an immersive, cocooning atmosphere. Because of the bold symmetry and vertical spread of the botanical fans, we especially like seeing this design on a wider feature wall behind a bed headboard or dining sideboard where the repeating arches can unfold uninterrupted. In compact rooms such as an entryway, powder room, or hallway, wrapping all four walls in this deep maroon pattern turns a smaller space into a dramatic, jewel-box setting.

Under generous daylight, the textured, mottled quality within the off-white elements comes forward clearly, while softer evening lamplight allows the rich maroon ground to feel warm, deep, and intimate.

Styling it

To complement the graphic symmetry and vintage aesthetic of the pattern, we suggest pairing it with interior elements that balance its visual energy:

• Furnishings in warm or dark wood tones, such as walnut or stained oak, echo the heritage feel of the motif without competing with its intricate geometry.
• Matte black metal or muted, aged brass accents on lighting fixtures and hardware harmonize naturally with the Art Deco linework.
• Upholstery and drapery in solid, grounded neutral fabrics, such as cream wool or deep berry velvet, allow the wallpaper pattern to remain the primary visual focus in the space.

Colour combinations

The core palette of our design relies on deep maroon, burgundy, and textured chalky off-white. When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, and ceilings, an off-white or soft warm cream keeps the room open and echoes the printed linework. For a richer, monochromatic look, colour-drenching adjacent trim, doors, and skirting boards in a matching deep wine or oxblood creates a seamless, sophisticated backdrop. Muted sage green or warm taupe on soft furnishings also offers an attractive, balanced contrast against the maroon tones.
