Wallpaper - Cappaccino

In our Cappaccino wallpaper, designer Michael Clark pairs a classic coffee cup, saucer, and spoon with fluid, organic swirls inspired by 1960s screenprints. Rendered with a watercolour-like quality in earthy light brown, cream, and subtle navy accents, the motif brings a distinctive mid-century aesthetic to the wall. We particularly like how the rounded forms and layered tones give the design a relaxed, graphic character without overwhelming the room. Made to measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our wallpapers are straightforward to hang and make it easy to introduce a retro café feel into your home.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well in a kitchen, dining room, or dedicated pantry nook where the coffee motif feels right at home. Because the composition balances open space with bold, sweeping curves, it functions wonderfully on a feature wall behind a breakfast table or dining area. In a kitchen with open shelving or along a cosy breakfast bar, the artwork adds warmth and visual interest to walls that might otherwise feel purely functional. For a pantry, the repeat creates a charming, curated backdrop that turns a compact space into an inviting corner of the house.

Styling it

The retro 1960s character and graphic shapes naturally complement mid-century modern furniture, particularly dining chairs and tables with curved silhouettes. We would combine this design with warm timber finishes or painted cabinetry to pick up on the earthy tones in the artwork.

Keeping surrounding worktops and larger pieces relatively simple allows the organic screenprint style to take centre stage. If you are styling an open dining space, simple ceramic tableware and understated lighting in brushed or matte finishes help echo the handcrafted feel of the print without competing with its visual movement.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on earthy light brown, soft cream tones, and grounding navy accents. For surrounding walls and woodwork, warm off-whites, buttermilk creams, or muted taupes create a calm, cohesive backdrop that lets the artwork stand out naturally.

If you want to create more contrast, pulling out the deep navy tones for kitchen cabinets, a painted pantry door, or dining seating adds structure and depth. Rich espresso shades and terracotta accents also sit comfortably alongside the warm brown base of the motif.
