Wallpaper - Etruscan Jugs

Created by Albena Hristova, this artistic design brings the quiet presence of ancient pottery into a contemporary interior. A row of weathered vessels and amphorae stands against a textured background, rendered in warm clay, earthy beige, and gentle ochre tones that give the motif the visual character of an aged fresco or stucco plaster. The balanced composition and muted palette create an understated, grounded focal point for a living space. Like all our mural wallpapers, it is custom made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We find this design works particularly well on an uninterrupted feature wall in a dining room, living room, or study, where the full arrangement of vessels can be appreciated at scale. Because the composition has a strong horizontal grounding, placing it behind a low sideboard, console table, or dining bench keeps the artwork visible without cluttering the foreground. In an entryway or hallway, the warm neutral backdrop adds an inviting, architectural depth without overwhelming smaller proportions.

Styling it

The rustic, painterly character of this wallpaper pairs naturally with interiors that celebrate heritage craftsmanship and organic modern aesthetics. We suggest keeping surrounding furniture relatively simple to let the artwork take centre stage:

• Pair with warm wood finishes such as reclaimed oak, walnut, or pine, which echo the earthy hues of the ceramic vessels.
• Incorporate simple unglazed ceramics or stone accessories on nearby surfaces to subtly connect with the still-life theme.
• Choose natural linen or woven upholstery in stone, oatmeal, or cream to maintain a soft, tactile balance across the room.

Colour combinations

The palette within the wallpaper centres on sandy beige, warm plaster, terracotta brown, and deep charcoal accents across the pots. To create a cohesive scheme, we recommend pairing this design with soft off-white, warm stone, or muted chalky paint finishes on adjacent walls and woodwork. If you want to introduce richer contrast, dark espresso brown or deep burnt umber drawn from the darkest vessel creates a striking accent for doors, joinery, or picture rails.
