Wallpaper - Whispers in Clay lI

Created by Nikita Jariwala, our Whispers in Clay II wallpaper brings a warm, illustrative still life directly to your interior. The design centres on a soft mint vase decorated with bold white polka dots, filled with trailing botanical stems that cascade across an earthy terracotta and blush-toned painted backdrop. What we particularly like is the expressive, painterly texture visible throughout the piece, giving the composition an intimate, handcrafted character on a grand scale. Printed as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings artistic warmth and distinct personality to any room.

In the room

Because of the strong central subject and distinct lower horizon, we see this wall mural working particularly well as an accent wall in a living room, dining area, or bedroom. Placing it on the wall behind a low sofa, a credenza, or a bed headboard naturally anchors the composition, letting the vase and cascading leaves become the main focal point of the room. In a compact dining nook or hallway, the warm terracotta base grounds the space while the soft mint and blush tones keep the upper half open and light.

For the scale to feel balanced, we suggest giving this wallpaper an uninterrupted wall area where the full still-life composition has space to breathe. Gentle daylight brings out the subtle shifts in the brushstrokes, while warm lamplight in the evening highlights the earthy clay and blush tones.

Styling it

When styling around this mural, we recommend keeping surrounding furniture simple in form so the expressive artwork remains the visual hero. Low-profile furniture in light oak or mid-toned wood complements the natural, grounded character of the terracotta base without adding visual clutter.

For decorative accents and textiles, we would choose matte ceramic pieces, unbleached linen, and woven textures that echo the artisanal feel of the painting. Introducing a few live trailing houseplants nearby creates a lovely visual dialogue with the painted botanical vines in the design.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on rich terracotta, soft blush pink, gentle mint green, and crisp white polka dots, anchored by dark charcoal-brown botanical stems.

To create a cohesive scheme, consider pairing this design with adjacent walls in a soft warm off-white or a muted blush tone drawn from the upper background. For a richer, more enveloping feel in a dining room or snug, an earthy terracotta paint on woodwork or surrounding surfaces echoes the foreground of the mural. Soft sage or mint accents in cushions or ceramics will also tie in effortlessly with the central vase.
