Wallpaper - Total Silence

Captured by photographer Derek Ryder, our Total Silence wallpaper mural brings the quiet depth of an ancient woodland into the home. Sun-dappled foliage in vibrant fern and forest greens filters the morning light through a canopy of mature trees, balancing the rich, mossy trunks and warm, leaf-strewn ground below. The composition uses natural perspective and vertical tree lines to create an open visual rhythm, drawing the eye gently into the forest interior. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper with a subtle paper texture, this mural wallpaper offers an expansive, nature-inspired backdrop for modern interiors.

In the room

In a living room or a dedicated meditation space, we see this wall mural working at its best across a generous, uninterrupted feature wall. The natural depth of the woodland scenery expands the perceived boundary of the room, creating an immersive focal point behind a low-profile sofa or along a main lounge wall. Because the photographic composition features strong vertical trunks and a leafy canopy, taller ceilings give the trees ample room to stretch naturally, while standard room heights benefit from the grounded, earthy forest floor anchoring the lower third of the wall.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this forest wall mural with quiet, contemporary furnishings that allow the photographic detail to take centre stage. Low-slung seating and minimalist silhouettes keep sightlines open so the depth of the woods remains unobstructed.

• Introduce warm, natural wood tones such as ash, bleached oak, or light birch to echo the timber in the motif without competing with its darker bark tones.
• Choose understated upholstery and floor coverings in neutral stone, oatmeal, or soft grey tones to ground the rich green palette.
• Keep surrounding architectural elements clean and unembellished, drawing inspiration from modern Scandinavian interiors where nature and simple forms balance each other.

Colour combinations

The core palette of this design is defined by rich greens, from bright fern and mossy lime where the sun hits the leaves to deep forest shadow tones, balanced by earthy bark browns and warm amber leaf litter. When selecting surrounding paint colours for adjacent walls, skirting boards, or cabinetry, we suggest pulling directly from these earthy undertones. Soft off-whites, warm moss greens, and muted taupes create a seamless, harmonious transition around the room without overpowering the vibrancy of the woodland.
