Wallpaper - Playful Vase IV

Our Playful Vase IV wallpaper by Cheryl Warrick brings together graphic floral forms and rich, contrasting colour in a bold still-life composition. Set against a deep midnight blue background, a rounded turquoise vase holds stylized botanical stems with circular, umbrella-like flower heads and fresh green foliage, resting on a curved orange surface patterned with radiating cream stripes. The artwork has a textured, printmaker-inspired visual quality that gives the flat shapes character and depth. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design makes an expressive focal point for modern interiors.

In the room

Because of the strong central motif and dramatic colour contrast, we see this wall mural working particularly well as a feature wall where the composition can be appreciated in full. In a dining room or living room, giving the wallpaper a clear, relatively uninterrupted wall allows the rounded shapes and dark backdrop to ground the space. It also works wonderfully in an entryway or home office, offering an immediate sense of warmth and artistic personality as soon as you step inside. If placing furniture in front of the wall, we recommend lower pieces such as a sideboard, low console table, or dining bench so the upper vase and branching stems remain completely visible.

Styling it

When styling around such a distinct graphic design, we like to balance its strong presence with clean-lined furniture and thoughtful material choices:

• Balance the bold turquoise and warm orange tones with mid-toned or dark woods such as walnut or warm teak, which echo the grounded feel of the navy backdrop.
• Choose furniture with simple silhouettes and understated upholstery in neutral woven fabrics to let the wall mural remain the primary visual focus of the room.
• Introduce smaller decorative accents in terracotta ceramics, matte black metal, or soft olive textiles to quietly pick up on the secondary colours within the print.

Colour combinations

The palette of our mural wallpaper is built around the striking interplay between deep navy blue, vibrant turquoise, warm tangerine orange, and leafy olive green. To build a cohesive room scheme around it, we recommend drawing from these tones on surrounding walls and trim. A deep navy or rich inky blue on adjacent walls creates an enveloping, dramatic look, while a muted off-white or soft warm cream keeps the rest of the room bright and lets the wallpaper stand out as a crisp centrepiece. Soft sage or olive accents in textiles and painted woodwork also pair naturally with the botanical elements in the artwork.
