Wallpaper - Island Botanica I

Our Island Botanica I wallpaper, created by Yvette St. Amant, pairs bold monstera foliage with a vibrant coral pink backdrop. What we particularly like about this design is the expressive, painted look of the large tropical leaves, where layered brushstrokes of deep teal, jade, sage, and olive bring sculptural depth to the foreground. The warm, brushed pink background provides an energetic, high-contrast field that makes the lush botanical forms stand out across the wall. Made to measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a confident focal point for contemporary interiors looking for a fresh, botanical presence.

In the room

Because of the generous scale of the monstera leaves and the strong colour contrast, we see this working exceptionally well as a feature wall in a living room, dining space, or bedroom. Placing the design behind a low sofa or a minimalist bed frame allows the dramatic foliage to frame the room without competing with taller furniture.

In a bright living area with good natural light, the subtle shifts between sage, olive, and deep teal become especially distinct against the vibrant pink background. For dining rooms or entrance halls, the open composition brings a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere that holds visual interest across wide, uninterrupted walls.

Styling it

To balance the vivid pink and rich green tones of our wall murals, we suggest pairing this design with grounded, tactile interior elements. Clean-lined contemporary furniture in lighter wood tones, such as birch or light ash, keeps the space feeling airy, while dark walnut or blackened timber can provide a striking, modern anchor.

For surrounding textiles and accents, opt for quiet neutrals such as unbleached linen, cream upholstery, or woven natural fibres like jute and rattan. Adding living houseplants nearby creates an enjoyable dialogue with the painted leaves, while matte black metal lighting or simple ceramic pieces allow the wallpaper itself to remain the primary decorative statement.

Colour combinations

The palette centres on the vivid contrast between warm coral pink and botanical greens, ranging from soft pistachio and pale sage to rich forest and dark teal.

When painting adjacent walls, woodwork, or ceiling trim, soft warm whites, pale plaster tones, or subtle sandy neutrals work well to let the mural take centre stage. If you prefer to draw directly from the pattern, picking up a muted olive or a pale moss tone on surrounding cabinetry or doors creates a cohesive, design-led scheme that harmonises naturally with the tropical leaves.
