Wallpaper - Squirrel Tree

Our Squirrel Tree wallpaper brings a warm woodland illustration to life across an airy, off-white backdrop. At the centre of the composition, an inquisitive squirrel perches along sweeping tree boughs, holding a small golden fruit among autumnal foliage, hanging berries, and a delicately fluttering butterfly. Rendered with fine ink-like line work and gentle painterly shading in saffron, warm ochre, soft taupe, and muted slate grey, the design offers a storybook charm inspired by classic English country illustration. Produced made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this design brings a welcoming and imaginative atmosphere to children's spaces and family rooms alike.

In the room

We love this design in nurseries, children's bedrooms, and dedicated playrooms where an illustrative, nature-led scene can spark curiosity. Because the tree branches frame the central squirrel while maintaining generous light space between the leaves, the motif sits comfortably across a feature wall behind a cot, low toddler bed, or a reading nook bench without feeling overcrowded. In a larger room, wallpapering across multiple walls creates an enveloping storybook woodland, while smaller rooms benefit from the light background keeping the overall space feeling open.

Styling it

To complement the traditional illustration style, we suggest pairing this design with simple painted furniture or natural warm timber. A honey-toned pine or soft birch cot, low open bookshelves, and gently curved wooden toy boxes echo the organic curves of the branches. For surrounding fabrics, consider plain, unpatterned textiles such as washed cotton or wool blankets in soft oat or pale grey to let the detailed foliage remain the focal point of the room.

Colour combinations

The design features rich saffron oranges, golden ochres, earthy bark browns, and soft slate-grey accent leaves set against a pale cream ground. When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, or built-in storage, we recommend picking up on the softer undertones within the print. Muted warm neutrals, pale biscuit, or a gentle buttermilk create a calm continuity, while an earthy muted amber or soft moss green on skirting boards and doors can ground the autumnal palette beautifully.
