Wallpaper - Bold Blooms

Our Bold Blooms wallpaper, created by Pamela Munger, brings an expressive floral still life to life on a large scale. Set against a deep, dramatic black background, a soft blue-grey vase holds an arrangement of lush painted blossoms in shades of dusty pink, lilac, warm marigold yellow, and crisp white, grounded by muted green foliage. What we particularly like is the visible painterly brushwork and canvas texture that give the motif its distinct artistic character. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wall mural with a subtle structure in the paper, it makes a striking statement on an accent wall in a living room, dining area, or bedroom.

In the room

Because of the strong tonal contrast between the midnight black backdrop and the vibrant floral bouquet, this mural wallpaper naturally commands visual attention. In a dining room or living room, we see it working exceptionally well on a main feature wall behind a dining table or sofa, where the composition can be appreciated as a large-scale piece of artwork. In a bedroom, placing this design behind a low headboard allows the floral forms to bloom upwards without being obscured. The bold dark ground gives the space an intimate, enveloping atmosphere, especially under warm evening light.

Styling it

We recommend letting the wallpaper remain the hero of the space by choosing furniture and accents that balance its painterly presence. Low-profile furniture with clean, simple silhouettes keeps the wall feeling open and uncluttered. Warm natural wood tones, such as mid-tone walnut or aged oak, complement the rich marigold yellow and earthy shadows in the painting. When selecting soft furnishings, smooth linens and matte woven fabrics in muted neutrals or dusty rose create a calm contrast against the dramatic dark backdrop.

Colour combinations

The design centres on a deep black ground accented by soft rose pink, marigold yellow, clean white, slate blue, and olive green. On adjoining walls and woodwork, a muted warm off-white or light chalky grey keeps the room balanced and prevents the darker tones from overpowering the space. If you prefer a richer, more cohesive look, pulling the slate blue from the vase or an earthy olive from the leaves onto architectural trim or surrounding cabinetry ties the whole scheme together beautifully.
