Wallpaper - Within Reach

Created in collaboration with Kate Jarvik Birch, our Within Reach wallpaper captures a powerful moment of human connection against a deep, dark navy backdrop. The design presents two expressive, painterly hands reaching toward each other from opposite corners, rendered with rich brushstrokes in warm skin tones, terracotta, muted rose, and subtle cool highlights. What we particularly like is the dynamic tension and sense of movement across the diagonal composition, which brings an artistic, figurative presence into an interior. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of its strong diagonal composition and figurative motif, we see this wall mural working particularly well as an anchor on an uninterrupted feature wall. In a bedroom, placing it behind a low bed frame allows the two hands to span across the space without tall headboards obstructing the central point of tension.

It also brings an evocative atmosphere to a living room, dining area, or a dedicated home study. Because the background is predominantly deep and shadowy, the artwork naturally commands attention. We recommend giving it room to breathe on a wide wall where the painterly brushwork and scale of the hands can be fully appreciated from across the room.

Styling it

To let the expressive artwork remain the focal point, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture clean-lined and relatively understated.

• Pair the deep backdrop with warm wood furniture or understated matte black accents that echo the darker tones in the painting.
• Bring in textured textiles in earthy terracotta, muted blush, or deep charcoal to draw out the painterly shades of the hands.
• Keep wall decor and tall shelving away from the mural wall so the composition's diagonal narrative remains entirely clear.

Colour combinations

The design itself balances deep midnight navy and shadowy blue-black tones with complex flesh tones, rose, terracotta, ochre, and cool lavender-grey highlights.

For surrounding walls and woodwork, deep navy or soft off-black creates an intimate, enveloping atmosphere that integrates the mural seamlessly into the room. If you prefer higher contrast, soft warm whites, muted plaster pink, or warm greys on adjacent walls will allow the mural wallpaper to stand out vividly as a statement piece.
