Wallpaper - Peony in Bloom

Our Peony in Bloom wallpaper features a dramatic, large-scale botanical portrait created by Crimson Cottage. Set against a deep, dark backdrop, the blooming peony takes centre stage with softly layered petals rendered in blush, ivory, and dusty rose tones. Visible painted brushstroke textures give the floral motif an oil-painting-inspired depth and classical presence. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings an intimate, gallery-like focal point to any interior wall.

In the room

Because of the bold contrast between the pale, luminous blossom and the dark background, we see this wall mural working particularly well on a dedicated feature wall. In a bedroom, placing it behind the headboard creates an enveloping, moody atmosphere, while in a formal dining room or living room, giving it an uninterrupted wall allows the sculptural details of the petals to be appreciated from across the room. The dramatic scale of the artwork turns the wall into an artful statement, making it equally fitting for a quiet study or an atmospheric dressing room.

Styling it

When styling around this mural wallpaper, we suggest keeping large furniture relatively grounded so the artwork remains the primary focal point. Upholstery in soft velvet or boucle creates a pleasant textural connection with the painted character of the motif. Darker wood finishes, such as walnut, complement the deep background, while subtle brass lighting fixtures highlight the warm highlights within the ivory petals without competing with the design.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built around warm ivory, dusty pink, and petal blush, contrasted against rich charcoal and near-black tones, with subtle hints of deep moss green along the stem. For surrounding walls and woodwork, muted warm neutrals, deep charcoals, or warm rose hues create a cohesive transition. If you prefer a lighter, more balanced palette, soft off-white or stony beige paints keep the room airy while letting the dark floral motif stand out.
