Our Molten Muse, Night Lights wallpaper brings together fluid, iridescent vertical gradients with sharp geometric overlays. Soft ripples of fiery orange, glowing pink, golden amber, and deep dusk blue shimmer behind crisp circles, ovals, and angular blocks in smoky charcoal and slate blue tones. The interplay between liquid movement and structured shapes creates an expressive, abstract wall mural that draws attention across large wall surfaces. Our mural wallpapers are made-to-measure for your exact dimensions, PVC-free, and straightforward to hang.
About the design
Created by Irina Chikati, this design explores the balance between fluid atmospheric colour and bold geometric structure. In the background, vertical rippling bands of colour create the effect of glowing light reflected on moving water or northern lights cutting through a night sky. Streaks of coral, fiery orange, warm amber, soft mauve, and sky blue melt seamlessly into deep navy and charcoal at the base.
Layered across this luminous backdrop are crisp, semi-translucent and opaque geometric forms. Circles, vertical ovals, rectangles, and geometric arches introduce a modernist constructivist rhythm. What we especially like is the visual tension between the soft, molten distortion and the clean, precise contours of the shapes. Some shapes capture and shift the gradient beneath them, while solid slate and charcoal blocks ground the lower half of the composition. Close up, the subtle colour transitions reveal fine visual detail, while from across the room, the wallpaper reads as a bold, modern art statement.
In the room
We see this design working particularly well on a main feature wall in a contemporary living room, creative dining space, or bedroom. Because the motif is large in scale and carries rich visual movement, it benefits from a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall where the full geometric composition can unfold.
In a living room, placing this design behind a low sofa keeps the upper glowing gradients visible while integrating the darker base tones behind the seating. For a bedroom, it works naturally behind a headboard, framing the bed with dramatic dusk-inspired colour. If you are working with an open-plan space or a room with tall ceilings, the vertical pull of the rippling gradients helps emphasise the height of the wall.
Styling it
Because this wallpaper carries so much visual energy and colour, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture clean-lined and understated. Contemporary low-profile furniture in dark charcoal, black metal, or smoked oak creates a sleek, grounded foundation that echoes the dark geometric shapes in the print.
For accents and decorative elements, tinted glass, brushed steel, or subtle matte black ceramics complement the modernist aesthetic without competing with the vibrant background. When selecting upholstery or larger textiles, smooth matte fabrics in deep petrol blue, charcoal, or muted grey help anchor the room while letting the wallpaper remain the undisputed focal point.
Colour combinations
The wallpaper features a dynamic palette of deep dusk blue, charcoal grey, vibrant orange, warm coral pink, amber gold, and pale lilac.
For adjacent walls and woodwork, we recommend pairing this design with deep slate grey or moody navy to create an enveloping, dramatic atmosphere. If you prefer a lighter, more balanced look, soft pale greys or muted off-whites with cool undertones will give the vibrant orange and pink highlights plenty of breathing space. Rich burnt orange or muted terracotta accents in cushions or artwork frames can also be used sparingly to draw out the glowing tones within the mural.
