Wallpaper - Quatrefoil Watercolor Trellis, Grass

Our Quatrefoil Watercolor Trellis wallpaper in Grass by RNM Arts brings a classic architectural trellis pattern together with the soft fluidity of a watercolour wash. The repeating quatrefoil framework frames stylized floral medallions, painted in tonal shades of meadow green and soft sage over a lightly textured pale green ground. What we particularly appreciate about this design is the balance between structured geometry and organic brushwork; translucent pigment layers give the lattice lines a relaxed, hand-painted character rather than a rigid grid. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper with a subtle paper texture, it provides a tranquil and classic decorative backdrop for the home.

In the room

Because the pattern combines a structured repeat with soft, low-contrast tonal greens, this wallpaper adapts effortlessly to varied spaces. In a bedroom or guest room, we love how it works behind a bedhead or wrapped across all four walls to create a soothing, garden-inspired envelope. The rhythmic motif also suits spaces like dining rooms, breakfast nooks, or an entryway where a touch of traditional pattern brings immediate charm without dominating the room. On longer walls or in rooms with generous natural light, the subtle shifts in watercolor transparency across the green tones become especially noticeable and lively.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we suggest leaning into materials and furnishings that complement its fresh, garden-led character:

• Pair the green trellis with warm wood furniture, such as honey-toned oak, pine, or mid-tone walnut, to balance the cool leafy tones with natural warmth.
• Choose soft furnishings in neutral slubbed weaves, unbleached cottons, or quiet linen in off-white, oat, or taupe to keep the overall atmosphere grounded and light.
• Incorporate subtle brass or antiqued bronze hardware on lighting and furniture to provide a delicate, classic metallic contrast against the painterly green geometry.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a harmonious palette of leafy grass green, soft sage, olive washes, and pale celadon. When selecting surrounding paint colours for adjacent walls, trim, or skirting boards, crisp chalky whites or warm off-whites provide a clean, fresh frame. If you prefer a richer, more cohesive look, echoing the soft sage tones on woodwork and panelling creates a sophisticated, monochromatic effect. Muted earth tones like terracotta, soft sand, and warm ochre also make wonderful accent shades in pottery or cushions alongside the dominant greens.
