Wallpaper - Quatrefoil Watercolor Trellis, Dove

Our Quatrefoil Watercolor Trellis wallpaper, created by RNM Arts, brings together classical Moroccan-inspired trellis lines and soft botanical motifs rendered in a watercolour style. What we particularly like about this design is the quiet balance between the defined ogee framework and the fluid, translucent washes of pale dove grey, slate blue and soft off-white. The subtle tonal shifts give the geometric pattern an airy, hand-painted character that sits gently on the wall. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper with a light paper structure, it is straightforward to hang and easy to live with.

In the room

Because the repeat combines structured geometry with soft, watery washes, this design adapts comfortably to both large and compact spaces. In a bedroom, we like using it on the wall behind the headboard, where the gentle rhythm creates an inviting backdrop without overwhelming the space. In a hallway or entryway, the repeating quatrefoil shapes provide continuous visual interest along narrower, high-traffic walls. The low-contrast palette also makes it a natural option for papering all four walls in a dining room or guest bedroom, giving the room an understated, cohesive character. In daylight, the subtle tonal gradations within each petal and frame catch the eye, while in softer evening lamplight, the pattern softens into a calm, continuous texture.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we recommend balancing the curved ornamental lines with clean-lined furniture and natural textures. A light oak or painted white wood bed frame or sideboard keeps the overall atmosphere crisp and open, allowing the trellis pattern to stand out cleanly. For textiles, we would choose relaxed off-white or washed linen curtains and upholstery to complement the soft watercolour appearance. Subtle brushed brass or matte dark metal accents on hardware or light fittings introduce just enough contrast to anchor the cooler blue-grey tones of the wall.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built around a gentle palette of dove grey, soft muted blues and pale chalky tones. To build around it naturally, we suggest pairing it with clean off-white or soft warm grey paint on surrounding walls, woodwork and skirting. If you want to introduce subtle depth, a deeper slate blue or muted navy on adjacent painted cabinetry or an accent chair draws out the darker contours of the trellis. For a warmer, balanced scheme, soft neutral beige and oatmeal tones on larger upholstery or rugs work beautifully alongside the cool undertones of the print.
