Our Shape Shifter, Pastel Pop wallpaper brings together soft abstract shapes, painterly brush textures, and a gentle collage-like composition. Created in collaboration with Irina Chikati, the design layers organic forms in muted tones of dusty rose, mint green, soft lavender, cornflower blue, and warm pastel yellow. The semi-translucent appearance of the layered brushstrokes gives the surface visual depth while keeping the overall impression light and playful. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper.
About the design
In this design, we wanted to celebrate freeform geometry and painterly expression through a gentle pastel palette. Large, rounded organic blocks overlap with sweeping linear strokes and softer dabs of paint, creating a collage effect that feels artistic and open. One detail we particularly like is how the translucent layers interact, allowing underlying shapes and brush textures to show through and add visual rhythm across the wall.
The visual scale is generous without feeling heavy. Because the shapes have soft, slightly feathered edges and varied opacities, the pattern flows continuously across the surface rather than repeating in rigid blocks. Up close, the subtle texture of visible brushwork gives the motif hand-crafted character, while from a distance the wallpaper resolves into a harmonious balance of cool and warm pastel tones. It is an expressive pattern that introduces color and graphic interest while maintaining a soft, relaxed atmosphere.
In the room
We see this wallpaper working especially well in spaces that benefit from creative energy and cheerful color. In a children's bedroom, nursery, or playroom, the friendly abstract shapes create an inviting backdrop that easily accommodates changing toys and furniture over the years.
It also translates beautifully into a modern living room or home office. For a living area, we would place this design behind a sofa or across a main feature wall where the larger organic forms have room to be appreciated in full. In a bedroom, installing it on the wall behind the headboard grounds the sleeping area while letting the softer lavender, peach, and mint tones set a restful backdrop. Because the pattern is light in value and visually airy, it works comfortably in both bright rooms with generous natural light and smaller spaces where a heavy, dark pattern might feel overpowering.
Styling it
When styling around Shape Shifter, Pastel Pop, we suggest letting the graphic character of the wallpaper lead the room while keeping larger furniture relatively simple. Contemporary furniture with clean lines and soft rounded profiles echoes the organic geometry in the pattern nicely.
For materials, lighter wood tones such as birch, light ash, or bleached oak pair effortlessly with the airy palette, reinforcing a fresh, modern aesthetic. If you prefer painted furniture, matte off-white, pale grey, or soft sage cabinetry keeps the surrounding environment grounded. For textiles, we would choose plain or subtly textured fabrics in oatmeal, soft cream, or washed cotton rather than competing bold patterns. Small decorative accents in matte ceramic, tinted glass, or brushed metal can pick up individual pastel tones from the mural wallpapers without overwhelming the overall composition.
Colour combinations
The wallpaper features a balanced mix of warm and cool pastels, including soft lavender, dusty rose, peach, mint green, powder blue, and touches of pale primrose yellow over a light, neutral background.
For adjacent walls and woodwork, we recommend pairing this design with warm off-white, light chalky grey, or a very pale plaster tone to give the mural clean framing. If you want to lean into subtle contrast, pulling one of the deeper accent tones from the artwork, such as a muted slate blue or dusty mauve, works wonderfully on a painted chest of drawers, trim, or surrounding cushions. Soft neutral flooring in pale timber or neutral woven carpets provides a quiet base that lets the pastel interplay remain the focal point.
