Wallpaper - Ljubljana Slovenia Skyline Blue & Bronze

Our Ljubljana Slovenia Skyline Blue & Bronze wallpaper, created by Michael Tompsett, presents the historic city silhouette through an expressive, watercolour-style composition. Rich indigo, deep navy, and mottled teal blend into warm bronze and golden ochre tones, creating a vibrant silhouette against an open white sky. Splatters and paint drips along the base give the architectural contours a fluid, artistic energy. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a distinctive urban statement for modern living spaces.

In the room

We especially like this design on a wider, uninterrupted feature wall where the full horizontal span of Ljubljana’s skyline can unfold without visual interruption. In a living room, placing the mural behind a low-backed sofa lets the recognisable landmarks, bridges, and castle silhouette command the upper portion of the wall while the darker splash effects ground the seating area.

The composition also works wonderfully in a dedicated home art studio or creative study. Because the upper half of the motif remains clean and airy against the white backdrop, the room retains a bright, expansive atmosphere, while the saturated skyline adds character and artistic depth across the focal wall.

Styling it

To let the dynamic colours of the skyline take centre stage, we suggest keeping larger surrounding furniture relatively clean-lined and quiet. Modern low-profile seating in neutral upholstery, such as warm ecru or soft grey, balances the vivid paint splatters without competing for attention.

When selecting accents, echoing the artwork’s warm metallic character works particularly well. Furniture with slender black metal frames or brushed bronze detailing highlights the rich amber and ochre flecks within the buildings, while dark indigo or navy cushions tie the seating directly into the deeper architectural tones.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper features a striking interplay of deep indigo blue, navy, mottled cyan, and dark plum alongside warm bronze, burnt terracotta, and golden ochre, set against an off-white upper background.

Around the room, you can pair the mural with clean off-white or light cool grey walls to mirror the open sky above the buildings. For a cozier and more immersive interior, pulling out the deep navy or midnight blue onto adjacent painted walls or cabinetry creates a dramatic contrast that frames the warm golden highlights of the skyline.
