Wallpaper - Scintilla, Blue Slate

Our Scintilla in Blue Slate wallpaper brings together gentle, drifting horizontal waves with fine pointillist detail across a muted slate blue backdrop. What we particularly like about this design is the balance between its calm, unified tone and the delicate stippled texture that reveals itself up close. The subtle tonal shifts between slate, soft steel blue, and cool gray create a quiet sense of fluid movement without overwhelming the room. Like all of our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because of its quiet tonal contrast and continuous, atmospheric movement, this design works comfortably across all four walls in a bedroom, living room, or entryway. On a wide, uninterrupted wall behind a bed or sofa, the soft horizontal drift creates a cohesive, grounded focal area that never feels busy. In smaller spaces like a powder room or home office, the muted blue slate tone adds visual depth while maintaining an open, airy atmosphere.

Styling it

We see this wallpaper working especially well alongside clean-lined, contemporary furniture in warm wood tones, such as walnut or natural ash, which provide a balanced counterpoint to the cool slate blue background. Keeping surrounding upholstery and drapery in matte, woven neutrals like ecru, off-white, or heather gray allows the subtle stippled pattern on the wall to remain the central decorative element in the space.

Color combinations

The design itself is built from a cohesive palette of muted slate blue, steel blue, and soft charcoal-gray stippling. When planning surrounding elements, crisp chalk white or pale gray painted trim keeps the overall look tailored and fresh. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, pairing this wallpaper with deeper charcoal accents, dark slate paint on adjacent walls, or muted navy upholstery creates a sophisticated tone-on-tone palette.
