Wallpaper - Scintilla, Sage Smoke

Our Scintilla, Sage Smoke wallpaper brings together soft, horizontal drifts of muted sage green with subtle, fine stippled detailing that flows gently across the surface. What we particularly like about this design is its quiet visual depth, where delicate shading and delicate pointillist-like textures create a gentle sense of organic movement without overwhelming the room. Made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure, this design offers a calm, understated backdrop that introduces tone and visual interest to a space.

In the room

Because the pattern relies on soft tonal shifts rather than sharp contrasts, we see this design working beautifully across all four walls of a bedroom, living room, or hallway. In smaller or narrower rooms, the gentle horizontal rhythm helps visually stretch the space, giving the walls a soft, continuous flow. In a larger living room or open-plan area, it provides enough subtle variation to prevent large expanses of wall from feeling flat or sterile, while remaining calm enough to let artwork, lighting, and furniture share the focus. Natural daylight brings out the gentle complexity of the sage tones, while softer warm artificial light in the evening settles the motif into a cozy, enveloping background.

Styling it

We would keep the surrounding decor grounded with natural textures and balanced forms to echo the organic movement of the wallpaper. Low-profile furniture in light or warm wood tones, such as natural ash, blonde birch, or mid-tone walnut, sits comfortably against the muted green backdrop. For soft furnishings, matte woven textiles like unbleached cotton, bouclé, or coarse wool in cream and oatmeal provide a tactile contrast to the fine stippling on the wall. Matte black or brushed bronze hardware offers a crisp graphic touch that sharpens the soft visual flow.

Color combinations

The primary palette of our wallpaper is centered on soft sage green, muted gray-green, and smoky undertones. To build a cohesive palette, we suggest pairing it with warm off-whites, pale stone, and soft alabaster on surrounding moldings, ceilings, or adjacent walls. For a deeper, more grounded contrast, rich charcoal, deep forest green, or espresso tones work particularly well in cabinetry, accent chairs, or larger architectural elements. Muted terracotta or dusty blush accents can also introduce a warm, natural contrast that complements the herbal green base.
