Wallpaper - Sinuous Ceres, Midnight Ebony

Designed by Marta Cortese, our Sinuous Ceres wallpaper in Midnight Ebony captures tall meadow grasses and delicate seed heads rising against a deep, dark ground. The composition uses long, flowing blades that create an upward vertical rhythm across the lower half, opening into lighter, branched foliage near the top. Warm wheat, straw, and golden-tan tones stand out in crisp graphic contrast against the black backdrop, giving botanical detail a striking modern presence. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, and designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

We love how the vertical movement in this design anchors a room while keeping the upper space visually open. In a bedroom, installing this mural wallpaper behind a bed lets the dense grasses form a natural visual headboard effect, with the airy seed stems drifting up toward the ceiling. In a dining room or living room, giving the wallpaper a wide, uninterrupted accent wall allows the full sweep of the botanical silhouette to show without interruption. The high contrast between the warm wheat tones and midnight black ground adds immediate definition to rooms with ample natural daylight or layered evening lamps.

Styling it

Because the pattern carries strong contrast and graphic rhythm, we recommend balancing it with calm, grounded furnishings. Streamlined silhouettes in warm wood tones, such as honey oak or walnut, echo the natural golden shades of the grass without competing for attention. Matte black accents or dark metal lighting can tie back directly to the deep background, framing the botanical scene cleanly. We would keep large upholstery in neutral, unpatterned fabrics, letting the detailed botanical foreground take center stage on the wall.

Color combinations

The design is built around rich straw, tan, and soft ochre hues set against an intense midnight black base. When selecting paint colors for adjacent walls or trim, off-black and deep charcoal shades create an immersive, enveloping feel. If you prefer a lighter surrounding palette, warm off-white, oat, or creamy beige walls pick up the lighter highlights in the seed heads while softening the overall contrast.
