Wallpaper - Sinuous Ceres, Burgundy Dusk

Designed by Marta Cortese, our Sinuous Ceres, Burgundy Dusk wallpaper depicts tall, winding meadow grasses and delicate seed heads rising against a deep wine-red backdrop. Slender stalks and ribbon-like blades layer in warm ochre, muted beige, and soft taupe tones, creating an expressive botanical border across the lower half of the wall that opens into clean, saturated color above. Made-to-measure and PVC-free, the wallpaper has a subtle structure in the paper that brings quiet depth to the botanical illustration.

In the room

Because the botanical rhythm rises from the base and leaves generous negative space along the upper edge, we see this working exceptionally well in a dining room or living room where furniture sits naturally against the lower third of the wall. In a bedroom, placing this design behind a low headboard allows the finer seed heads and rich burgundy background to remain fully visible. The vertical movement of the grasses also makes it a striking choice for a hallway or entryway, where the upward sweep draws the eye and gives narrower spaces a sense of height.

Styling it

We would keep surrounding furniture grounded in warm, understated materials so the rich color contrast remains the focus of the room. Warm wood pieces in walnut or stained oak echo the golden tones in the blades without competing with the illustration. Pairing the wallpaper with matte brass accents or understated black metal fixtures adds clean definition against the deep red background, while simple linen or wool textiles in natural oatmeal keep the overall interior feeling balanced and welcoming.

Color combinations

The wallpaper pairs deep burgundy and rich wine tones with golden straw, wheat, soft taupe, and pale ochre. On adjacent walls, warm stone, soft linen beige, or creamy off-white let the mural act as a defined feature wall. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, wrapping nearby trim, baseboards, or cabinetry in a matching deep wine or muted charcoal brown creates a cohesive, sophisticated atmosphere.
