Wallpaper - Sinuous Ceres, Sage Mist

Designed by Marta Cortese, our Sinuous Ceres, Sage Mist wallpaper brings the layered rhythm of tall wild grasses and delicate meadow seed heads into the home. What we particularly appreciate about this mural design is the gentle verticality: slender, curling blades rise from the base in muted sage, khaki, and soft olive tones, while finer floral silhouettes drift softly in the background against a calm, pale cream field. The composition remains open toward the top, creating a light, breathable feel across the wall rather than enclosing the space. Printed as a custom made-to-measure wall mural on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical texture, it is simple to hang and tailored to your exact wall dimensions.

In the room

Because the botanical artwork anchors heavily at the base and leaves generous open space above, we see this working exceptionally well as a feature wall behind a low bed frame, a dining bench, or a tailored sofa. In a living room or primary bedroom, the upward movement of the grasses draws the eye naturally toward the ceiling, giving standard-height rooms a sense of vertical flow.

For smaller spaces like a quiet home office or an entryway, you could easily paper multiple walls without overwhelming the room. The subdued contrast and earthy green palette keep the repeat gentle, allowing lower furniture pieces like a wooden desk or entryway console to sit naturally against the denser meadow motif below without fighting the illustration.

Styling it

We would keep the surrounding interior quiet and grounded, letting the natural lines of the wallpaper carry the decorative interest. Low-profile furniture with clean silhouettes works particularly well here, ensuring the lower detail of the mural remains mostly visible.

To complement the earthy botanical illustration, we suggest pairing the wall with warm natural wood furniture, such as white oak or muted ash. Simple unbleached woven textiles, like linen drapery or a low-pile wool rug in oatmeal, echo the soft cream background of the paper and create a cohesive, organic interior feel.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is defined by a soft spectrum of sage green, pale olive, muted khaki, and an airy cream background.

When choosing colors for adjoining walls, baseboards, or cabinetry, we recommend pulling directly from these undertones. An off-white or creamy ivory will blend seamlessly with the upper background of the mural. If you prefer subtle color on adjacent painted walls, a gentle, desaturated sage or chalky gray-green will pick up the darker stems in the pattern. For accent pieces or upholstered seating, deeper moss green or soft sandy neutrals provide a balanced, natural contrast.
