Wallpaper - Sinuous Ceres, Slate Blue

Our Sinuous Ceres, Slate Blue wallpaper, created by designer Marta Cortese, brings an immersive botanical landscape into the home with an upward rush of wild grasses and delicate seed heads. Dense, curving blades in warm beige, wheat, and pale straw tones rise from the bottom edge against a deep, moody slate blue backdrop, opening into finer botanical silhouettes higher up the wall. The composition creates a grounded lower boundary while leaving breathing room above. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this mural design is custom made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

Because the visual density of the pattern builds up from the floor, we see this working exceptionally well along a wider living room or dining room wall where the vertical movement has space to unfold. In a bedroom, placing the design behind a low headboard allows the taller, delicate foliage to crown the sleeping area without getting lost. The rich slate blue ground gives the wall depth, while the warm, light-toned grasses keep the overall impression balanced rather than heavy.

In rooms with changing daylight, the contrast between the dark backdrop and the pale wheat tones shifts pleasantly, revealing softer undertones in morning sun and a cozier, more enveloping atmosphere under warm evening lamps. The strong vertical lines can also help draw the eye upward in rooms with standard ceiling heights.

Styling it

We would pair this design with low-profile furniture in warm woods or muted painted finishes that respect the lower grass layer rather than competing with it. Clean, uncomplicated silhouettes allow the layered organic lines of the artwork to stand out as the primary visual focus.

For surrounding textiles, unpatterned fabrics in oat, cream, or soft navy echo the palette without cluttering the space. Introducing subtle ceramic accents or soft matte metal hardware in muted bronze adds quiet definition while keeping the room calm and cohesive.

Color combinations

The motif itself combines deep slate blue with varied warm tones of wheat, straw, oat, and soft caramel. For adjacent painted walls, we suggest pulling directly from these warm neutral highlights with soft bone, muted cream, or warm off-white.

If you prefer a moodier, more continuous look throughout the space, deep charcoal blue or slate gray on neighboring walls and trim creates a sophisticated, wrapped feeling. For upholstery or larger furniture pieces, rich caramel leather, warm wood tones, and textured ivory fabrics harmonize naturally with the golden grass illustrations.
