Wallpaper - Kasumi Garden, Honey Ochre

Our Kasumi Garden, Honey Ochre wallpaper mural, created by Marta Cortese, presents a rich botanical landscape inspired by classic East Asian folding screen aesthetics. Against a warm, mottled ochre background with stylized drifting cloud motifs, an intricate garden unfolds with tall bamboo shoots, blooming peonies, chrysanthemums, irises, and delicate climbing sweet peas. Scalloped dark navy and gilded bands run along the base, anchoring the composition while the slender stalks rise gracefully into the upper space. Printed made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, this mural wallpaper brings a serene yet ornate character to a statement wall.

In the room

We find this design works exceptionally well as a feature wall in a dining room, living room, or primary bedroom where the horizontal scenic landscape can unfold without heavy disruption. Because the dense floral detail and scalloped borders are concentrated in the lower half of the wall, placing a low sofa, a credenza, or a bed frame against it feels completely natural, allowing the airy bamboo and cloud patterns above to remain prominent. In an entryway or living space with generous wall width, the panoramic composition establishes a grounded, artistic presence without overwhelming the room.

Styling it

To complement the traditional Japanese screen inspiration and warm metallic-toned background, we suggest pairing this design with dark or warm wood furniture, such as walnut, teak, or ebonized oak. Low-profile furniture pieces allow the tall bamboo stems to maintain their visual height. For accents and textiles, consider bringing in subtle matte navy or indigo fabrics to echo the scalloped base, paired with muted linen or warm neutrals that let the floral illustration remain the focal point.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is built around a glowing honey ochre background, complemented by deep navy blue, warm gold, creamy whites, blush pinks, soft blues, and earthy bamboo greens. For surrounding walls and trim, warm off-whites, creamy parchment, or soft taupe tones create a gentle transition. If you want a more intimate and enveloping atmosphere, a deep inky blue or charcoal drawn from the scalloped base makes a striking accent color for adjacent doors, woodwork, or built-in shelving.
