Wallpaper - Sinuous Ceres, Burgundy Dusk

Created by Marta Cortese, our Sinuous Ceres, Burgundy Dusk wallpaper depicts tall, winding meadow grasses and delicate seed heads rising against a deep burgundy backdrop. The botanical illustration layers warm wheat, oat, and muted taupe-green tones across the lower and middle sections of the composition, leaving rich, dark space across the upper wall. The upright lines create natural vertical rhythm that draws the eye upward, while the hand-painted character of the foliage brings warmth to the foreground. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We particularly like this design on a main wall in a bedroom or dining room, where the deep burgundy ground creates an intimate, enveloping atmosphere. Because the dense grass motif rises from the bottom edge and opens into delicate seed heads, the wallpaper grounds the lower half of the space while keeping the upper wall calm and uncluttered. In a dining space, placing a low sideboard or dining table in front of the wall lets the tall blades frame the setting without losing the intricate botanical details at the top. In a hallway or study, the strong vertical movement works just as effectively, lending height to the room while introducing rich seasonal colour.

Styling it

To complement the botanical feel, we suggest pairing this mural with warm wood furniture such as walnut, stained oak, or teak. The darker wood tones resonate with the earthy wheat and burgundy hues, keeping the overall scheme cohesive and grounded. For upholstery and soft furnishings, plain woven textiles in warm cream, muted ochre, or rust provide a gentle contrast against the deep backdrop without competing with the intricate grass pattern. We would keep decorative accessories relatively simple and let the wall mural serve as the central visual focus of the space.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on a deep burgundy background paired with wheat gold, soft beige, and muted sage-grey grasses. Around this design, we suggest introducing warm neutral shades on adjoining walls, such as soft plaster, muted stone, or warm cream, to let the rich background stand out. If you prefer deeper interior schemes, pairing the mural with rich chocolate brown, earthy terracotta, or deep forest green on woodwork or larger furniture creates a layered, sophisticated look that ties directly into the botanical tones.
