Wallpaper - Sinuous Ceres, Soft Fawn

Designed by Marta Cortese, our Sinuous Ceres, Soft Fawn wallpaper brings the gentle movement of tall grasses and delicate seed heads into the home. What we particularly like about this design is the upward rhythm of the composition, where curving stems and botanical blades rise from the base against an open, neutral ground. Rendered in a soothing palette of warm fawn, soft beige, and subtle dusky taupe, the illustrated foliage has an organic, fluid feel that adds depth without overwhelming a room. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because the botanical elements rise gracefully from the bottom edge and open up towards the top, this design works especially well as a feature wall behind lower furniture. In a bedroom, placing it behind a bed allows the finer seed heads and delicate stems to remain fully visible above the headboard. It is equally suited to a living room, dining area, or a calm hallway where you want to introduce visual height and a soft nature-inspired focal point.

In rooms with plenty of natural daylight, the gentle tonal layering between the warm fawn foreground and the deeper taupe blades stands out with wonderful clarity. In softer evening light, the entire motif settles into a warm, harmonious backdrop that wraps the room in quiet texture.

Styling it

To complement the fluid botanical forms of this mural, we suggest pairing it with furniture that has clean, understated lines. Soft, textured upholstery and warm timber finishes, such as natural ash, light oak, or painted cabinetry, blend effortlessly with the earthy palette.

Keeping surrounding decorative objects relatively simple allows the intricate grass motif to remain the visual centrepiece. A plain woven rug, linen window dressings, or subtle ceramics in sand and warm stone tones will echo the natural mood of the design without competing for attention.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a gentle balance of soft fawn, warm oatmeal, and deeper accents of earthy taupe and muted brown.

When choosing paint for neighbouring walls and woodwork, warm off-whites, chalky creams, and gentle stone tones will extend the background seamlessly. If you prefer a richer, more grounded feel, pulling out the darker taupe or a warm mushroom shade for your skirting boards, doors, or adjacent walls creates an elegant, considered contrast.
