Wallpaper - Grain Clad, Graphite

Our Grain Clad, Graphite wallpaper brings the striking visual character of vertical dark timber panelling directly to your interior. We have composed this design with broad vertical planks showcasing intricate wood grain, soft whorls, and subtle tonal variation across deep charcoal, slate, and graphite hues. The vertical rhythm draws the eye upwards, giving walls a grounded, architectural presence with visual texture rather than flat colour. Made-to-measure to fit your room dimensions, our wallpaper is PVC-free and features a subtle physical structure in the paper that complements the detailed wood grain motif.

In the room

We see this design working particularly well on a feature wall in a living room, bedroom, or dining area where you want to create depth and visual contrast. The strong vertical lines of the panelling help emphasise ceiling height, making it an excellent choice for rooms with standard or lower ceilings. In a bedroom behind the headboard or in a living room behind a low sofa, the dark charcoal tones anchor the space without feeling chaotic, because the rhythm of the vertical planks remains calm and orderly. In spaces with ample natural daylight, the finer grain details and gentle shifts between deep grey and soft black are clearly visible, while in moodier evening light, the wall creates an intimate, enveloping atmosphere.

Styling it

Because this design has a rich, dark presence and vertical architectural character, we recommend balancing it with thoughtful material choices and clean silhouettes:

• Pair with lighter or warm mid-toned wood furniture, such as natural ash, blonde oak, or warm teak, to create a balanced contrast against the dark graphite backdrop.
• Incorporate tactile fabrics such as textured woven rugs, wool throws, or soft linen drapery in off-white, oat, or warm stone to soften the architectural lines.
• Introduce understated black metal or brushed brass light fixtures and accents, which echo the linear character of the planks while adding subtle warmth and definition.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper itself is defined by a nuanced palette of graphite, charcoal, slate grey, and deep ash tones. Around it, we suggest pairing adjacent walls and woodwork with warm off-whites, soft limestone, or pale stone greys to keep the surrounding space bright and balanced. If you prefer a moodier, monochromatic look, deep charcoal or muted olive greens on neighbouring walls or cabinetry create a seamless, sophisticated transition that lets the grain motif remain the central focal point.
