Wallpaper - Kasumi Garden, Honey Ochre

Our Kasumi Garden, Honey Ochre wallpaper by Marta Cortese brings together a lush botanical garden scene set against a warm, honey-toned backdrop. Slender bamboo stalks rise behind abundant clusters of flowering blossoms, peonies, delicate daisies, and climbing sweet peas, accented by deep indigo scalloped cloud bands and soft floating clouds above. The composition balances intricate floral detail with open golden space across the upper wall. Like all our wallpapers, this mural is made-to-measure to fit your room dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well on a wide, uninterrupted feature wall where the full horizontal landscape has space to unfold. In a living room or behind a dining table, the lower half of the design grounds the room with rich botanical colour, while the airy clouds and golden background keep the upper wall open and luminous. It also creates a striking backdrop behind a low headboard in a bedroom, where the delicate floral details can be appreciated up close without being obscured by taller furniture.

Because the pattern is concentrated lower down and transitions into softer cloud forms above, it works naturally in rooms with standard or higher ceilings. The warm honey background catches daylight gracefully and takes on a cosy, glowing presence under warm lamplight in the evening.

Styling it

To let the intricate botanicals take centre stage, we would keep the surrounding furniture relatively calm and grounded. Low-profile furniture in dark timber, warm walnut, or clean mid-century lines complements the Japanese screen-inspired aesthetic without competing with the floral layers.

Textiles in natural linen, unbleached cotton, or raw silk pick up the tactile quality of the painted backdrop. For accent pieces, deep navy ceramics or dark indigo cushions offer a considered nod to the scalloped borders at the base of the mural.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on rich honey ochre, deep indigo, olive green, soft cream, and accents of rose pink and cornflower blue.

When painting adjacent walls or selecting major finishes, we would look toward warm off-whites, pale parchment, or muted biscuit tones to harmonise with the golden sky. For trim or doors where a stronger contrast is desired, a deep midnight navy or slate blue mirrors the dark clouds at the bottom of the design, tying the whole room together effortlessly.
