Wallpaper - Kasumi Garden, Persimmon

Our Kasumi Garden, Persimmon wallpaper by Marta Cortese brings an evocative Japanese garden scene into the home, layered across a rich, warm persimmon-brown ground. The lower half of the mural wallpaper is filled with a dense, luminous bank of botanical blossoms in creamy whites, blush pinks, and soft golds, anchored by scalloped cloud bands at the base. Tall bamboo stalks and subtle cloud silhouettes rise toward the upper wall, giving the composition a grounded, scenic rhythm. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

Because the composition places most of its floral weight across the lower section, we see this wall mural working particularly well behind low-profile furniture. In a bedroom, placing it behind a headboard lets the dense garden base frame the bed naturally while the bamboo and atmospheric clouds drift upward into the rest of the room. It brings a similarly considered presence to a dining room or living room, where a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall allows the full scenic breadth of the landscape to unfold.

In spaces with soft evening lamplight, the warm russet undertones of the backdrop deepen, while daylight brings out the delicate linework in the lilies, irises, and bamboo foliage. The horizontal layering also makes it well suited to rooms with standard or lower ceilings, as the vertical reach of the bamboo draws the eye upward without overcrowding the top of the wall.

Styling it

To let the detailed botanicals remain the focal point, we would pair this design with clean-lined furniture in warm natural woods like walnut or stained oak. The organic character of the illustration balances beautifully against quiet, structured silhouettes rather than heavily ornamented pieces.

For surrounding textiles, consider heavy unpatterned weaves in ivory, biscuit, or warm taupe. Keeping upholstery and curtains calm gives the intricate field of petals and leaves space to breathe. Subtle accents in brushed brass or dark bronze will echo the warm, grounded tone of the background without introducing distracting high-contrast reflections.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on an earthy persimmon and chestnut backdrop, brightened by ivory, pale parchment, rose, and buttercup yellow in the blooming florals. Charcoal and soft grey-green appear along the bottom scalloped borders and stems, providing crisp anchor points.

On adjacent painted walls and woodwork, we recommend continuing the warm neutrality with soft off-whites, warm stone, or muted taupe. If you want a more enveloping, moody atmosphere, pulling a deep terracotta, rust, or espresso tone onto the skirting boards and surrounding walls creates a seamless, grounded backdrop that lets the white blossoms stand out with exceptional clarity.
