Wallpaper - Kasumi Garden, Lacquer Red

Our Kasumi Garden, Lacquer Red wallpaper by Marta Cortese brings an atmospheric botanical garden scene to life against a deep, rich red backdrop. Grounded by scalloped misty contours at the base, the composition rises into dense clusters of delicate floral blooms, soft lilies, and climbing bamboo foliage set below shadowy clouds. The contrast between warm cream petals, muted blush notes, and the moody, lacquer red background gives this mural wallpaper a painterly presence. Produced as made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper with a subtle paper structure, it adds warmth and visual depth to any considered interior.

In the room

We love seeing this wallpaper on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full vertical balance between the dense lower floral garden and the open, moody upper sky can unfold naturally. In a dining room or living room, placing our mural wallpapers along the main feature wall anchors the seating area while creating an enveloping, intimate atmosphere. Because the most intricate floral details sit across the lower half of the design, we suggest keeping lower furniture pieces such as a low-profile sideboard or a minimalist sofa in front, allowing the delicate botanical artwork to remain clearly visible.

The deeper lacquer tones also work wonderfully in a bedroom behind a headboard or in an entryway where you want to set an immediate, sophisticated tone. In rooms with generous natural daylight, the subtler shades in the petals and bamboo leaves stand out, while softer artificial evening lighting highlights the warmth of the red ground.

Styling it

To let the rich floral landscape remain the focal point, we recommend balancing this wallpaper with understated interior pieces and quiet textures.

• Ground the space with darker wood or warm walnut furniture that echoes the deep tones in the background without competing for attention.
• Incorporate neutral, unpatterned upholstery in warm cream, linen, or soft taupe to reflect the lighter tones found in the floral blooms.
• Choose understated brushed brass or muted bronze accents on lighting and hardware to complement the warm lacquer palette.

Colour combinations

The verified palette in our wallpaper centres around deep lacquer red, muted burgundy, creamy white, soft butter yellow, and gentle blush tones.

When decorating adjacent walls or choosing architectural trim, soft ivory or warm off-white creates a gentle, luminous contrast that ties in with the lightest flowers. For a cosier, more monochromatic look, deeper hues like rich terracotta, chestnut, or muted oxblood on surrounding woodwork will envelop the room. If you prefer subtle colour contrast, muted olive green or soft sage in cushions and small accessories pairs naturally with the botanical foliage.
