Wallpaper - Ginkgo Folia, Rain

Our Ginkgo Folia wallpaper in Rain brings a rhythmic, layered botanical pattern to your interior through the delicate fan shapes of ginkgo leaves. What we particularly like about this design is the balance between fine line work and soft tonal depth. The radiating veins of each leaf create a gentle texture, while overlapping layers of slate blue and muted steel grey give the wall a calm, enveloping presence. As with all our wallpapers, this design is produced made-to-measure to your dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure.

In the room

Because the ginkgo leaf motif repeats in a continuous, flowing rhythm, we see this design working beautifully across an entire bedroom or as a focal wall behind a bed or sofa. In a living room or dining area, the balanced scale allows the pattern to hold its own on a larger uninterrupted wall without overwhelming the space. The cool slate blue and grey tones respond gracefully to changing light, showing their finer details in clear daylight and taking on a moodier, deeper quality under warm evening lamps. We also like this pattern in a home office or hallway, where the repeating organic geometry brings visual structure to compact walls.

Styling it

To complement the cool tones and fine linework of our mural wallpapers, we would introduce furniture in warm wood tones such as walnut or mid-toned oak, which creates an inviting temperature balance against the slate blue backdrop. Upholstery and textiles in textured off-white, oatmeal, or deep charcoal help ground the room while letting the leaf pattern take centre stage. For decorative accents, quiet finishes in brushed brass or blackened metal sit naturally alongside the graphic details of the foliage.

Colour combinations

The palette in our Rain colourway is built from muted slate blue, steel blue, and soft grey-blue shadows. When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, and skirting, we recommend soft chalky whites, pale dove greys, or deeper muted navy tones that pick up on the darker shading between the leaves. Muted sage and earthy taupe also sit comfortably in the same room for a relaxed, layered scheme.
