Wallpaper - Ginkgo Folia, Blue Shale

Our Ginkgo Folia wallpaper in Blue Shale creates a layered, fan-like canopy across the wall, inspired by the distinctive shape of ginkgo biloba leaves. We designed this pattern with overlapping botanical silhouettes, using fine radiating linework to give each leaf individual clarity and movement. The soft blue-grey and slate palette keeps the repeating motif subtle rather than overwhelming, allowing the rhythmic arcs to bring texture and character to a space. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a refined botanical backdrop that feels calm, elegant, and timeless.

In the room

We love how the gentle geometry of this design brings structure without feeling rigid. Because the pattern relies on tonal depth rather than strong contrast, it works beautifully across all four walls in a bedroom or dressing room, creating a cocooning environment without closing in the space. In a living room or hallway, we would place it on a feature wall where the rhythmic fan shapes can add immediate visual interest to an entrance or behind a low sofa. The continuous, overlapping repeat also makes it an excellent choice for dining rooms, where the botanical rhythm feels engaging at both distance and close range.

Styling it

The cool slate-blue tones pair naturally with warm, tactile materials that balance the crisp linework. We particularly like combining this wallpaper with mid-toned woods such as walnut or warm oak, which bring an inviting grounding element to the room.

For surrounding finishes, brushed brass or soft matte black hardware offers a lovely tailored contrast against the leafy curves. Upholstery in soft ecru linen, muted taupe, or deep navy velvet will anchor the space while letting the wallpaper carry the decorative focus.

Colour combinations

Our Blue Shale colourway centres on dusty slate blue, soft grey-blue, and gentle charcoal outlines. To build a cohesive palette around it, we recommend pairing the wallpaper with adjacent woodwork or walls painted in soft off-whites with cool or neutral undertones, chalky grey-white, or deeper slate. For a richer, more enveloping feel, dark navy or deep charcoal on skirting boards and doors creates an architectural frame that accentuates the motif.
