Wallpaper - Scintilla, Blue Slate

Our Scintilla, Blue Slate wallpaper brings together soft slate blue tones with a quiet, organic movement across the wall. Look closely and you will notice delicate stippled detail and subtle tonal shifts that flow horizontally, giving the surface a gentle, atmospheric depth rather than a rigid pattern. Designed by Wallism Studio, this is one of our more understated mural wallpapers, offering visual interest through texture-like nuance while maintaining a calm, cohesive backdrop. Like all our wallpapers, it is made-to-measure, PVC-free, and printed on paper with a subtle physical structure that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because the pattern in Scintilla, Blue Slate relies on soft gradients and low tonal contrast, it adapts effortlessly across different spaces. In a bedroom, we like how the cool slate blue creates a quiet, restful backdrop behind a bed, grounding the room without overwhelming it. In a living room or a dedicated home office, the design works equally well across all four walls as it does on a single feature wall, providing a sophisticated alternative to plain paint. The horizontal flow of the motif also works nicely in narrower rooms or hallways, where the subtle horizontal drift can help the space feel visually wider and continuous.

Styling it

When styling around Scintilla, Blue Slate, we prefer balancing its cool, muted blue palette with warmer organic elements. Furniture in warm wood tones, such as mid-tone oak or walnut, creates an appealing contrast against the cool slate ground. To keep the atmosphere light and balanced, pair the wallpaper with textured upholstery in off-white, oat, or light grey wool and linen. If you want to introduce metal finishes through lighting or hardware, muted brushed brass or blackened iron provide a crisp, considered definition against the softer blue tones.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on shades of slate blue, muted steel, and soft dusty blue-grey. To build a cohesive room scheme around it, we recommend pairing the design with warm off-whites, chalky creams, or soft greiges on adjacent painted walls and woodwork. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, deeper navy or charcoal can be used on joinery, curtains, or key furniture pieces to anchor the slate blue. For subtle accent touches, muted terracotta, ochre, or olive green offer a natural warmth that sits comfortably alongside cool slate.
