Wallpaper - Ginko Folly, Indigo

Our Ginko Folly wallpaper brings together the graceful silhouette of overlapping ginkgo leaves with a structured, fan-like geometric repeat. Set against a deep indigo backdrop, the fine off-white line work highlights the delicate ribbing of each leaf, giving the botanical pattern an elegant Art Deco character. The balanced scale and rhythmic arches create a composed, tailored look across the wall without feeling overly dense. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made to measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We especially like how the repetitive fan structure gives structure to a room while retaining a softer botanical feel. In an entryway, hallway, or downstairs cloakroom, the deep indigo tone and orderly repeat add immediate depth and architectural interest, turning smaller transitional spaces into memorable focal points. In a bedroom or dining room, the design works beautifully across a full accent wall behind a bedhead or dining table, providing a rich, enveloping backdrop that feels both classic and contemporary. Because the pattern is modular and repeating rather than a single scenic landscape, it also sits comfortably across multiple adjacent walls in a study or reading nook.

Styling it

To balance the graphic geometry and deep blue tones of the motif, we would pair this design with warm, organic materials. Mid-toned to darker woods, such as walnut or warm oak, naturally complement the indigo shade, while warm brass or muted bronze accents in lighting and ironmongery bring out the subtle Art Deco elegance of the fan shapes.

For surrounding furniture and upholstery, textured neutral fabrics like bouclé, woven wool, or washed linen in soft oatmeal or warm grey help soften the clean lines of the pattern. Keeping large upholstery items relatively quiet in pattern ensures the wallpaper remains the central feature of the room.

Colour combinations

The palette centres on deep indigo blue and soft off-white. For adjoining painted walls and woodwork, crisp chalky whites, pale greiges, or soft stone tones create a clean, considered contrast that echoes the delicate lines within the leaves. If you prefer a more cohesive, immersive atmosphere, you can pull the deep navy or midnight blue onto skirting boards, door frames, or adjacent cabinetry. For smaller decorative accents, muted mustard, warm ochre, or soft blush pink provide a subtle, sophisticated counterpoint to the cool blue field.
