Wallpaper - Ginko Folly, Ochre Linen

Our Ginko Folly wallpaper brings together an elegant fan-shaped ginkgo leaf motif and a structured scallop repeat, creating a refined geometric rhythm across the wall. Rendered in warm ochre linework over a soft linen-toned cream background, the design balances the botanical delicacy of fine radial leaf veins with the architectural clarity of an Art Deco-inspired scale pattern. The medium-scale repeat gives the motif plenty of presence without overpowering surrounding interior elements. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made to measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure that makes it straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because the repeating fan pattern creates a steady, harmonious rhythm, we see this wallpaper working beautifully in both intimate and larger spaces. In a hallway or entryway, the upward arch of the ginkgo leaves introduces a graceful visual lift that welcomes you into the home. It is equally well suited to a bedroom behind a headboard or wrapping a dining room, where the warm ochre tones bring a gentle, inviting glow. In rooms with generous daylight, the delicate line work within each leaf stands out with crisp definition, while softer evening lamplight enhances the warm, golden undertones of the ochre palette.

Styling it

We like pairing this design with furniture that echoes its balance of organic softness and tailored geometry. Mid-century modern sideboards or classic dark wood pieces in walnut or warm teak sit naturally against the ochre linework, grounding the pattern without competing with it. To let the rhythm of the wallpaper take centre stage, we suggest keeping larger upholstered pieces relatively calm in solid neutral fabrics such as unbleached cotton or oatmeal bouclé. Brass or aged bronze accents on lighting fixtures and mirror frames pick up the warm metallic warmth implied by the ochre tones, completing a cohesive, considered look.

Colour combinations

The design features two core tones: a deep ochre gold in the linework and a muted, warm linen cream in the ground. To create a seamless transition around the room, pair adjacent walls or woodwork with warm off-white, clotted cream, or soft biscuit paint colours. For a moodier, high-contrast scheme, deep olive green or rich espresso brown woodwork provides a dramatic complement to the golden ochre leaves. If you prefer a subtler, tonal interior, layering surrounding furnishings in honey, tan, and warm beige keeps the palette harmoniously warm and unified.
